More Bible study ladies

I just realized that I did not get Connie in the pictures. Connie is our co-leader. She also plays the guitar when the big group is together to sing.

Bible study

On Tuesday mornings I attend a women's Bible study at the Community Alliance Church. Our current study is in Daniel. We use Beth Moore's videos and study guide. Marlene, who is serving up her jello salad is our leader. It is a joy to fellowship with the women in my group. There are over a hundred women altogether who meet on Tuesday mornings, but we break into small groups for discussion and prayer.

Thanksgiving Day

We had a lovely Thanksgiving Day. Joyce stayed over to help with preparations. It is always such a treat to have her by herself. Joyce made pumpkin cake and chocolate fudge molded candy. She also made some molded mints. She helped me get the 19 pound turkey into the oven early in the morning and count out the silverware and plates and so on for the meal. I was afraid to even try to get the turkey out, so we waited until Charlie arrived and let him do the job. Amy made delicious stuffing, Paul mashed the potatoes, and we all ate way too much! I caught Daniel and David dipping into the cool whip. I scolded them, but it was hard not to laugh. In fact every time I think of their guilty faces and their fingers halfway to their mouths dripping with cool whip, I have to chuckle.
We have so much to be thankful for. We live in abundance. The children are all healthy and bright. God has given us more than we can hold and He is promising even more. We have the sure hope of heaven.`

Thou art my God; I'll give Thee thanks,
My God, I'll worship Thee.
O thank the Lord, for He is good;
His grace will endless be.
Psalm 118:28-29

Joyce is molding little chocolate fudge candies. If you click on the picture to enlarge it you will see little fudge turkeys among the shapes.

Joyce in night gown

This is the night gown that Joyce made. She wore it Wednesday night when she stayed over to help with preparations for Thanksgiving.

Joyce with cards

Joyce made several cards this past week and they have been sent to various people.

David

This display was all handmade. The artist who put it together even carved all the little characters. This shows only a small part. There were mountains and a stream with a prospector panning for gold.

Daniel and P3

Visiting train displays is one of the most delightful traditions of the Blair family!

P3 and Daniel's favorite

"That's my favorite!"

David is pointing to a tiny Thomas train coming down the track. We visited a collection of train displays. There was another display that had several larger Thomas trains running, but David preferred this one.

Good therapy

The kids could hardly tear themselves away from their new friend. They were engrossed in petting and talking to him. It had a very calming and soothing effect on them. When the dog layed down, they kind of layed or scrunched down to stay on his level.

Who is the center of attention?

This was taken at the funeral home. Amy's dad passed away last Saturday morning. On the morning of the funeral the children were greeted by a special guest.

Annabelle's outfit

Joyce made a dress for herself with this fabric and wanted one to match for Annabelle.

Joyce's prayer pal gift

Joyce needed to make a gift for her prayer pal, so she sewed this scented coaster. We found a chocolate lover's mug to sit on it and put a packet of hot chocolate mix in the mug. She wrapped it in "buggy" paper. Pretty good job!

Maple Trees

These trees are located in front of my cottage. The weedy looking thing growing out of the rhododendron is a volunteer hollyhock.
