DC in potato box

DC lost his balance and fell into the potato box!

Decorating cupcakes

All the kids had a hand in decorating the cupcakes. They did a good job, too!

Baking cup cakes...

Joyce mixed up the cake and put it in mini cupcake tins. The occasion was her dad's birthday. I think she enjoyed licking the bowl the best.

Redbud tree

My mother loved this redbud tree. It will soon be covered with blossoms!

Peony shoots

I noticed these peony shoots the last time I took a walk around the yard at Charlie's. In a few weeks they will be in full bloom. Peonies are among the most fragrant and showy flowers of spring!

Spring!

Spring has sprung! Such a beautiful and hopeful time of year! It is wonderful to see the color coming back and the trees beginning to bud. What joy to wander around outdoors and find new sprouts and bits of color!

Spring crocus

This was taken in Charlie's yard, just before the snow hit. I had wanted to get a picture of the forsythia coming into bloom, but I think it is too late now. The forsythia outside my living room window is looking a bit drab from the blast of cold that came through on Wednesday.

Searching for the light...

J stayed over one night in March. I think she looks a bit like a swami.

Checking the Rock Candy

A few weeks ago the kids made rock candy. It takes at least a week to form crystals according to the directions. I think it was more like 2 weeks for this batch. This was taken the day we made it, so it has a long way to go.

Here's Terry

I had a great time visiting with Norma and Terry while they were here! Terry even got my old PC to work. Oh well, it was operating on Windows 98, so I guess it was time to move on anyway. I am liking my new PC very much and more so since Terry figured out how to get to my blog. He is a real magician when it comes to PCs.

I'm Back!!!

I have missed about 6 weeks of blogging. My PC quit and it took a few weeks to make a decision to get a new one. Once I had the PC I could not get on the internet. The cable company came out - apparently my router did not work with Vista. Once on the internet I found I could not access my blog. Friend and genius, Terry Frankland figured it all out and here I am! He is also retrieving the info from my old hard drive - something I appreciate very much - the thought of losing my documents was dismaying.
