Drying corn...

This is of course Charlie's sweet corn. I saw the neighboring farmers out collecting their field corn to make into silage. Dried cornstalks look like fall to me. Interesting that many folks use bunches of them to decorate their front doors, lamp posts, mailboxes or whatever.
